    A guidance counselor, also known as a school counselor, helps students develop academic and social skills, and provides academic, personal, and career advice:

    Academic or career goals: Guidance counselors help students achieve their academic or career goals.

    Assess abilities and interests: Guidance counselors assess students’ abilities and interests.

    Build self-esteem: Guidance counselors help students examine their potential skills to build their self-esteem.

    Recognize issues: Guidance counselors help students recognize issues that may cause stress, such as bullying, academic struggles, and conflicts with friends.

    Identify strengths and interests: Guidance counselors help students identify strengths and interests, correct weaknesses, and develop strategies for achieving goals.
